ABOUT

Sue O'Guin

I started out sewing and quilting at an early age.  My mom, who was a 4-H leader for sewing, taught my 3 sisters and me how to: sew, quilt, knit, crochet, you name it, when we were young. Those skills never go away, but somehow life, 3 kids, and a full-time job got in the way of using those skills full time over the years. I got back into serious quilting about 6 years ago and in 2021 I took the plunge into the business end and opened Sue's Quilts and Things, a professional longarm quilting service.  I do all my longarm quilting on a Grace Qnique 21 Pro.

I retired in March 2022, so now I spend a big portion of my day in my quilting studio.  The studio is still a work in progress although it is coming along with the help of some great retirement gifts from friends and family.  Some of my other passions include reading, gardening, and volunteering time helping the sea turtles.

I have always loved quilts.  As a child, I grew up with a house full of quilts and a new one always in the works.  I have a passion for each aspect of creating a quilt, from choosing the pattern, picking out colors of fabric, piecing, and quilting the finished quilt top.

Even though I am somewhat new to the quilting business part, be assured that I am not new to quilting.  I do all my longarm quilting with free motion, with options of a wide variety of designs.  I also do T-shirt quilts, applique quilts, and even custom-made quilts from baby quilts to king size quilts.

I know the cost, love, and hours of time that goes into creating those quilt tops, so be assured that I will do my best to listen to your requests and pledge to enhance your creation with my added touches of love.
